No Child Should Be Left on Their Behind

 I was asked to make a presentation at our faculty inservice on what our department (Health/Physical Education) could do to contribute to the school's goals of raising test scores. While I could put up a pretty good argument as to why this is a misguided goal to begin with, I was more than glad to highlight the importance of student health and movement in the learning process. After all, learning is a physiological process, a fact that is often overlooked by curriculum "experts" who are always trying to find ways to present information without regards to the living organisms who are supposed to somehow absorb it. I ran across this short video that exposes the notion that students should sit in desks all day.
